Surrounded by beautiful mountain views, this rustic ranch home received a custom deck and patio addition perfect for entertaining family and friends. Utilizing salvaged fir from an early 1900s Big Horn, Wyoming barn, we created custom decking that combines with a scribe-fit lodgepole pine handrail to blend seamlessly into the existing architecture. Natural moss rock stone veneer, flagstone steps, and a mortar set flagstone patio and walkway complement the natural beauty of the space, while a flagstone countertop and reclaimed fir cabinets provide the perfect prep and grill space.
Combined with metal detailing, reclaimed wood is a natural choice in creating an industrial rustic vibe, and this home in Sheridan’s Powder Horn golf community is a perfect example of this growing trend. Working with the homeowners’ vision, we designed, built, and installed a variety of reclaimed wood and metal finish work. From the custom front door crafted out of reclaimed corral board, zinc sheeting, and seeded glass to the great room feature wall with custom metal fireplace surround to a wine room flanked by reclaimed rough sawn timbers, this home demonstrates that reclaimed wood can be refined and incorporated in more modern architectural styles.
